About Us
Who We Are
We are citizens of Merrickville-Wolford and the surrounding area working together to accelerate the transition to a socially just low-carbon future. We welcome anyone that is interested in contributing to actions big and small to learn together and build community resilience.
We have been gathering and working together since the fall of 2019. We began with a community potluck, and have enjoyed many planning evenings discussing strategies to bring greater awareness to practical ways we can contribute to solving the climate crisis.
We stand on the strong foundation built over the many years when Merrickville Goes Green led environmental action in our community. They passed us the baton, and we are taking up the next leg of this race.
We have a hope that eventually everyone that lives, works, volunteers, or shops in our region will consider themselves part of the Sustainable Merrickville-Wolford community. We all can play a part in mitigating the climate crisis, and we will all face the need to adapt to the changes we are facing as our planet warms.
